Memorial Day in the Wet Mountain Valley 🇺🇸

We Remember Those That Gave All for All of Us 🇺🇸

Out here, Memorial Day still means something around Westcliffe and Silver Cliff. it’s more than a long weekend or the unofficial start of summer.

It’s a time to slow down, remember the men and women who never made it home, and honor the families who carry that sacrifice forward every day.

At  Valor Development Solutions, LLC, military service helped shape who we are long

before we ever picked up blueprints or broke ground on a job site. The lessons stay with you: show up, keep your word, help your neighbors, and do the job right even when conditions get tough.

That mindset became the foundation behind Operation Fresh Start, a local effort to help build a safe home for an elderly veteran couple here in Custer County.

“What started as a simple service call quickly became something much bigger, as volunteers, businesses, tradespeople, and neighbors all stepped up to help.” Warren Gold, CEO and Founder, Valor Development

As Valor founder Warren Gold said during the project:

“This isn’t about charity. It’s about doing what’s right — because we can.”

That simple idea says a lot about this valley and the people who live work and build their homes here

This Memorial Day, we hope everyone takes a moment to enjoy family, friends, and these beautiful Colorado mountains — but also to remember why the holiday exists in the first place.

“From all of us at Valor, thank you to those who served, and especially to those who gave everything for this country.” 🇺🇸
